I am in the process of installing a new system in my Explorer.....(1) JL Audio 300/2 and (1) JL Audio 1000/1 powering (3) JL Audio 15W6s........Now I need to solve my power problem......I already have a 1 farad capacitor, but I need more. The X has a 1 year old battery in it so I plan on keeping it. Im trying to decide which route would be the best way to go:

1. Batcap Capacitor
or
2. 200A or 160A Alternator

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.:D

Cap is only a band-aid. If your current charging system isn't enough, time to get a new alternator.

Get a bigger alternator. Also run some 4 ga wire from the alternator to the battery.

upgrade the ground on the engine and the batt while ur replacing the alt =)

Im thinking a new alternator would be the way to go too.....but Ive been reading about the Xstatic Batcap and they say its a capacitor/battery and the car audio store says its the equivalent of 100 caps. Has anyone had any experience with these? Thanks for the help!:D
