Power Window Mechanism

There is what seems like a coil spring on the power window mechanism that is loose and sounds like a jar of nails being dropped every time I close the door. I can't really see it. Is there any way I can fix this without having to take the assembly out? Would rather avoid it if I can.

Window regulator assemblies are a HUGE PITA. I screwed around with mine in my 92 until my fingers bled and ultimately took it to a body shop who replaced it with a new one for about $200.

My advice on window regulator assemblies? PAY someone to fix/replace it.
