So, I spent the afternoon replacing my driver side power window regular, after about 8 months of my door being taken apart. That was a pain in neck, but that's another story.
Unfortunately, even after replacement, the window still "sticks" (i.e. stops) when you hit the auto-down. It goes down 2-3 inches and then seems to hang up on something. If you hold the button down it will work it's way through it, but you can tell it's struggling. I had already replaced the motor.
I greased the tracks really well, and am going to see if that makes it any better once it works in there. The only other thing I can think of is ONE screw that could be adjusted a bit, but it was previously one of the rivets. The hole where the regulator mounts to the back of the window is actually a slot, so that arm could slide a bit one way or the other.
It seems to hang right at the point where the lower arm on the regulator "crosses over" on the track on the way down. It gets to a certain point where it reverses direction in the track in order to continue moving the window down. I just can't figure anything else that would cause it to hang, so I thought I'd ask if anyone else had ever run into anything like this. All of the posts I read about window problem pretty much conclude with "replace the regulator".
EDIT: I did also look a the tracks that the window slides in, and they look fine. I even ran the edge of a screwdriver down the length of them to make sure there was nothing that could be causing the hang. Seemed fine.
