Power window

one of the power windows in my 93 doesn't work. when I put it down it will go down but half way there is a thump thump noise then it goes the rest of the way down. and when it gets to the bottom it will just do the thump thump thump noise as long as I hold the button down. and when I attempt to put the window up all I get is the thump thump noise. to get the window back up I have to pull it back up (not alot of force is required) any idea whats going on here?

Sounds like the window is partially off the track.
Or maybe a couple teeth on a gear in the motor are missing.
Have you taken off the door panel yet?
