Premature brake wear or is it me ?

I have a 2003 ford explorer xls. Seems like I'm replacing my brakes about every 2 years or 20k. Is it me or should the brakes last alot longer ?

Pad life varies by brand and driving habits.

On my 2002 XLT, the original pads lasted 70K miles. I'm on the second set of Ford pads, with 119K miles. I need to inspect them for wear.

My driving habits are to use the OD off button down hills and at off ramps to reduce braking. I also anticipate stops far ahead of most drivers. These habits also increase gas milage.

I use the middle of the road pads and rotors. 70k is alot to get out of pads. I was hopeing to get about 40k out of mine but its just not happening. My driving is ok im not brake happy. And my truck isnt that heavy.

i have power stop rotors and ceramic pads and i am pushing 26K with them and they arnt even squeeking yet... i think its just you... and i drive mine like i stole her.
