I called the local tire dealer that I have been using for many years about a set of BFG all-terrain tires in the 255/70R16 size. The price he quoted was $188 / tire. This seems a little high. What kind of prices are you seeing on these tires?

I have found $178.99 at www.ok4wd.com you have to email them to get prices. What i have found is that it is about the cheapest in my immediate area. 255/70R16 and 265/70R16, because they are rare sizes, hover in the $180 range. The 265/75R16, a step up in size, hover in the $160 range. I am looking into that size. Has anybody else found it any cheaper in the last size?

Dead Link Removed has the BFGoodrich T/A ko's in 285/75R-16 for 166.95 each, so I would say it's a little high. They don't list the size you have, so Petech may be right on the rarity issue.

I was thinking about stepping up to the 265/75R16's, but I don't know if Ford will cover them under the recall. Might want to ask the dealer about that...

I would ask the dealer what they cover under the recall. Then make a choice from there. If you have to buy a new set, or pay the difference, you might just wanna go ahead and buy the "pricey" ones. Its your call though.

i'd go ahead and get the expensive ones cuz with the recall you'll get reimbursed $120 or so for the firestones. check this out that someone else posted:

bfg set a standard price for the at kos ....tire retailers are not allowed to underprice bfgs mandate.

BFG does have a set price and if a dealer even tries to go lower BFG will not allow them to carry there tires anymore BFG also has the price of mount and balance in the price of the tire so if a company tries to charge u for mount and balance then they just made an extra 10-15 bucks on u

i don't know what BFG's price limit is, but when i got my All-Terrain T/A KO's, i paid $96 each at Sears. i only have 235/75/R15, but surely the price would jump that much to size up? just my thoughts and limited knowledge
