I AM GOING TO BUY SOME NEW SHOCKS FOR MY 91 EXPLORER WITH 2" LIFT AND AM THINKING ABOUT THE PRO COMP ES 1000 OR ES 9000, JUST WONDER IF ANYONE ELSE HAS THEM AND WHAT THEY THINK THE 9000 ARE ONLY A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE BUT I DIDNT KNOW IF THEY WERE MUCH BETTER
THANKS

i have the 9000's....whoopie! it would be better to go for the 9000's over the 1000's since the 1000's are oil based and not gas charged, whereas the 9000's are nitrogen charged....don't expect a significantly better ride although it should ride a little smoother.

I used to have ProComps on my X and I hated them. I'm not sure what kind they were, but I think they were 3000s. They were way too stiff and gave a lot of body roll and nosedive under braking. I love my new Monroe Reflex Shocks. You might have different results as you have a lift and I am stock but the difference should be pretty small. Plus, the Reflex shock has gotten pretty good reviews as an off-road shock, too.

I have PC 9000's

There Ok, I don't know if I'd buy them again. Depends on if they start making mx-6's for the ex soon.
