Has anyone used the pro comp suspension lift kit K4023? I am looking to purchase it. However they do not list an 02 explorer 2wd for this kit. Thanks

If i'm not mistaken an 02 2WD is like an 02 4WD in that it has IRS, thus no lift available for it.

IRS? what is that? Im sure once someone tells me ill kick myself but yea not so good at acronyms

its independent rear suspension...irs

this ios what 2nd gens have. look under your truck and you'll see you have a different set up

Yes you are correct, you have a 03 SPORT, which means you do have a solid axle. Don't know what these jerkies are talking about.

His sway bar is disconnected for extra wheel travel offroad. They can be hooked back up for highway use. I believe that is what you were reffering to.

Nevermind... I took another look and saw that he relocated his shocks to his sway bar mount and the bracket above the axle is the old shock mount...

oops i saw pickup mans 02 explorer and not your sport...yup you got the same solid axle....my bad. Let the flogging begin.

i seeyou have added a lift to the rear... how difficult was that? Im hoping to purchase the pro comp kit but dont want the install to be an extended project. this x is a daily driver.

that isnt my truck. i just got it for visual porposes, but yes i do have a lift on my truck. YOu can go 3 ways.
Then to buy warrior shackles...70 bucks. This will give you about 4 inches of lift.
3) do an SOA...this is probably the most technicla as you have to cut the exhisting perches on the bottom of the axle and weld new ones on top of the axle. Then you relocate your shockson your sway bar mounts, like in the picture. Problem however with this setup is that if you are hard on the truck (acceleration) you get axle wrap and wheel hop...that breaks parts. So what you can do is extend the perches to be longer.

unless tyou are a hard core wheeler i would recommend option 1 or 2.

This is actually in the wrong forum which is why you were thinking it was a 4dr.

I am running a Pro Comp AAL #13120 I think. That will only give you about 1.5" of lift tops. But like '97 V8 said, Warrior shackles will give you another 1.5" or so for a full 3". Both are fairly easy to install and there's write-ups somewhere on this forum about them. Good luck!

Do you have a link to the kit you're talking about?

Shoot yeah.. that is the spindle lift. Lots of people are using that. I believe that the Sports are no longer mono leafs, so you should be able to run that whole kit.

now its just a matter of getting $600 to buy it.... damn you tax return hurry up!!! (being a poor college student sucks)

dude join the club haha.
