I replaced the throttle cable a few days ago. On mine there's a second cable going to the TB. I'm not sure what it is. It goes from the TB, to some round plastic thing on the drivers side fender. I had to take it off to replace the TB cable. There'a little metal clip that holds this cable to the bracket that the TB cable is on. Well it broke off. I need a new clip. I tried the ford dealer, & there no help. They can't tell me what it is. We thought it was a kickdown cable, but after ordering the part, it wasn't it. Later was told if it's a manual, it won't have a kick down cable. So now the dealer thinks it's the cruise controll cable??? Maybe, I have no idea. The hayes manual is a waste. It mentions no such part, & doesn't even say what the cable is when taking the throttle cable off, or TB off. Now the truck is not driveable. I have a few junk yards around, but they are closed when I get off work, & cannot leave work during the day, & get to work to early. None are open on saturday. This just sucks!! If it is the cruise controll cable, I have to orcder the whole cable. I can't just get the clip, & it's $60!!! Special order 7-10 days to get!!!!! Anyone have any ideas??? Maybe a spare clip in some parts explorer I could buy?
Thanks

From your description it sounds like the cruise controll cable. Not sure on how to fix it w/o looking at it though.

ANYONE???????

Well, I guess forget it! I fixed it myself. I though somone would have been able to help. Guess not. I guess I had the only 2 problems no one knew nothing about!

Sorry, I didn't see this before.

Yes, that is your cruise control cable. If you just broke off something that holds the cable in place, it's no biggie. As long as the cable is still connected to the cruise box and the TB, you're fine. Just use zipties to hold the cable.
