I can't unlock the driver's door with they key on my 2000 Mountaineer. The door switch on the door panel will unlock the door. When I attempt to unlock the driver's door with my key the lock knob will move up a little, but not enough. The key will lock the door. I recently purchased the vehicle and have not tried the keyless entry. I need to recode the keyless entry system. I am able to open the door using the key fob, but would like to fix this problem
I have sprayed the interior of the lock mechanism with a graphite based lube, and WD-40, but this has not resolved the problem. The Ford dealership said it might take a week before the WD-40 application will solve the problem. Am I on the right track?
Thanks.
