I have a 1997 Explorer Sport SOHC, I've had it for about two and a half months, it has about 205,000 miles on it but runs great, problem is I can't keep the power in fifth gear, on a flat stright road i can maybe keep it at sixty-five. When i come up on a hill, drops a gear and i have to floor the petal, and then acts like it freezes in high rpms after i come off the hill, even when if i do let it ease down a gear. Eventually the power does return, but it something i would like to look in to.
I've made sure the overdrive is working, checked the mass air flow sensor is clean and bought the parts for a basic tune up, ie air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve, wire set, sparkplug, and right front o2 sensor before cat (which is believed to be bad) but have not been able to tune it yet.
Any ideas on things I could have missed would be greatly appricated.
