Problems Engaging 4x4

hey everybody im new and i have a problem engaging the 4x4 on my ford explorer (94) and i need so advice thanks everybody

how many km does your x have do you have auto hubs

it has auto hubs and it has 216 km

auto hubs are a known failure point as well as the tcase motor does your 4x4 light come on when u push the button?

ic ic umm the light doesnt come on but i can here the clicking when i press it or at least i belive i can hear it, its pretty quite

take off your tcase motor manually move the selecter to 4 hi or low and see if your hubs are engaging however it appears your motor does not work fyi it will let you know if your hubs still work

another thing to try before you start taking stuff apart is to unplug the connectors on the t-case and clean them real good. you can use some electrical contact spray cleaner on them (a good idea even if that isn't the problem) and that may fix it. you can also try tapping (gently) on the t-case motor with a hammer to see if it is just "stuck". Good luck with it.

Problems getting my 4x4 to Engage

I have a 94 Ford Explorer. My 4x4 indictator lights are working when I push 4H and 4L, but the 4x4 is not engaging. I even hear a 'click' when I push them. On the transfer case there is what looks like a 5/16" male vacuum fitting. Is this a fitting for a vacuum line or just a vent. If it is for a vacuum line coming from the transfer case, where do I run it to? Could this be my 4x4 engaging problem? :smoke: Thanks for any help!

i have a 1994 limited and the light beside button is always on and the 4x4 light is on also and when i push it it doesnt click or do anything i dont know what to do i have done every thing i could please help
