I have replaced the HU, installed a new aftermarket 4ch. Amp and replaced all stock speakers with new. The problem is I have NO bass, the volume is loud but hardly any bass. I have checked and rechecked the amp settings(high/low pass) as well as the radio(bass +/-)
I have checked the wiring at the amp to the speakers and it all matches up with wiring diagrams from the net. The only short cut I have taken is I wired into the factory wiring for the speakers, to save time. I do NOT have a factory amp as it is removed.
If one speaker is wired backwards, would this throw off the whole thing or am I just missing something else.
I don't expect it to win any contests, but I do expect Bocephus to turn a head or two. Any help or suggestions would be great, as I'm really tired of removing the rear panel to access the amp.

well it could be a few things, first it might just be that the speakers have some sort of high pass/low cut built in, however if you like to listen to your music loud i would say it is the wiring. as an electrician for sound and lighting i can't stress to you how important having the proper gauge wiring is and on my experience it makes a huge difference, in my ex i originally ran dedicated speaker lines to all the doors except the driver's door and the difference is notable. you can crank your speakers up loud and hear the "highs" fine because they don't require much power but low-end requires vast amounts more. one other thing to check is the power cable from your battery to your amp, without a proper size cable your amp can;t harness it's full potential. the difference is night and day...

check this link out for info on proper wiring sizes

Problem was twofold, first was two out of phase speakers, and second was loose terminal at speaker basket. Problem was fixed quickly.
