program new key fob remote door lock

Hi All,

I have a 99 Ford Explorer that the only remote door control is failing. I have a new one, but can not work out how to reprogram the system to add the new remote. The remote my system has onlt has a single button, and has a bosch logo on the back.

Does anyone know how to reprogram this system?

My ford dealer wants 2 hours labour to do it at £75 per hour so I really would like to do it my self.

I have searched the forums and tried all of the version i found:-

Cycle the ing 5/8 times does nothing.
Short the connector in the jack compartment with the ing in acc or on does nothing
Turn the interior light on/off 3 times does nothing.

Anyone got anymore suggestions? BTW, the door does not have a keypad.

Bosch? Then it ain't factory...

It sounds like yours never came with it, someone added it onto the truck.

Hi,

There is bosch writen on it, but it also has a large ford logo in the center and the new one was purchased directly from ford.

Try turning the key from off to run 10 times quickly, that sets up the computer for programing, then pust the fob button once. That should progam your fob.

This is the English set up and can only be programmed by a main dealer.
