i went magnaflow because i wanted and overall quieter exhaust. my exhaust is quiet down low, but when i romp the gas it still roars pretty good
i didnt mind the drone of the FM at all, but also what swayed me towards Magnaflow is that their mufflers are a straight through design, for optimal flow. while FM uses baffles still...
gday Caldwell,as shallow as this might sound thats all im chasing... sound, the usual i spose as close to a v8 as a v6 can get. 210 hp (dont know what it is after your airbox mod or the 2 1/2" system or once i get the henno x3)or there abouts is all i need, but plan is keep for 4 1/2 years (i love my x) sell to my son when he can drive (or give if he goes to university)plenty of safety but not over the top grunt,a perfect first car. then buy a 2005 V8 and start all over again. you cant beat the look of a 3rd gen as far as im concerned anyway it'll cost a few bob for postage of either magna or flow so i just want a sweet deep burble to roar and possibly a wee crackle on decelleration.what do you reckon bro considering you've had both?
better performance just by design IMO, cause there is no baffles in the muffler. doesnt sound " tin like " at any point in the rev range. very tolerable at crusing speed, but will still come to life when you romp the throttle...
have you deicided if your going to stick with the stock piping or going 2.5'' piping ?
i would suggest muffler 11226 or 11256...
Icecube has the 11226, and I have the 11256. both are 2.5'' I/O mufflers, but Nates muffler is i believe a 14'' body, and i have an 18''. I'll be willing to say that Nates is gonna be louder, if your going for " sound "...
I'm gonna go with the 2.5". my muffler bloke can do me a custom fab for a good price and it saves getting another muffler further on down the track when id eventually say time to do new pipes. just ordered my magnaflow 11226 and exhaust tip 3" x 3.5" each hole.thought id get them to chuck it on while shes in the shop
0-60 Video. I know I couldn't keep the camera on speedometer sorry about that, but you can hear the exhaust. I'm going to ask my brother to hold the camera towards the speedometer for another video.
This video the accelerator is floored. Trying to make a left turn, hold the camera, watch for cops, and drive at the same time is quite difficult
Then here its just regular acceleration 1000-3000RPMs (uphill)
The exhaust is louder in person. And you can hear the cold air intake "breathing"
