wow, this thread is old and no one ever responded. i havnt seen one yet either. but im interested too

thats because the exact question has been answered probably a dozen other times in different threads. The answer is no, no one makes one. Find someone that makes them, contact them and let them know there are several people that want it.

Lets do it! I've been looking for projector headlamps for my Mountaineer for a long time. Lets get people together and contact a manufacturer to make one. Anyone interested?

I'm down. we're going to need a lot of people though. they don't make projectors for a lot of cars, and explorers are always the last to be made. I say we got the best chance with APC, theyre the biggest. but do you really think that a crystal clear headlight lense would look nice right next to the old school frosted corners??? i hate when i see imports with that

APC would be a good one to try, they make them for several different kidns of vehicles. Here's the APC's in my F-150:

I have heard reports of them turning yellow after a year or so, but the stock headlights do that too :).

Looks good! Your "mains" aren't projectors, though - correct? Did you stuff the projector in there, or did it replace an existing light?

I had projector headlights and fogs on my Mitsu 3000GT, and they never yellowed.

Those are NICE!!!!

Alright guys .. lets try and convince APC to make em for Explorers/Mountaineers. I'll make a website for everyone who's interested ... perhaps put a signature counter or something to show the APC folks we're interested. Anyone wanna help?

I'm serious about this, and I think we can make something happen! Comments? Thoughts?

the APC's for the F-150 are a dual-beam system, it has the main bulb then the smaller H3 bulb.
I need clear corners to match, LOL.
Good luck with convincing them, I'd be happy to help in any way I can.

Ah not another "let's persude a company to do this" thread. I really don't see it happening. Even if they did make projectors, it wouldn't match the parking lamps. :(

Not to be a wet blanket, but I don't see it happening because of this board, either. The marketing folks at APC conduct surveys to see what products generate the most revenue for their company - they'd be making them if there was a market.

~50 people from a website isn't enough incentive for a company to tool a new manufacturing line, test the product, pay distributors, etc.

I have always wanted to get a set of headlights and some projo's from like Walmart and them Fiberglass up a set and them just paint the area inside the body color and put it in behind the factory headlight cover.

I have wriotten to both sylvania and APC at least a dozen times on this subject. Though I should guess i should give up on Sylvania as i already have HIDs.

I say we have an all points bulliten on this board to APC. Maybe we can have an "offical" Explorer Forum request that they make such lights with a list of all the members that want them.

i was thinking that the euro clear lense on projector lenses would look really stupid next to the frosty lenses of the corners. IMO so would euro clear corners. i was thinking that it would be a whole lot cheaper and nicer looking to remove the projector lense from any other housing and install it behind our factory headlight lenses. this will solve the problem of focusing HID beams, and having a matching front. only problem is, it will be harder to show off that you have such an expensive lighting system!
