projector lights? whats the difference?

hi, i'm about to get some new aux lights. what are projector style lights? are they very different from others. i can't afford piaa or ipf lights, so i'm stuck with something a little less expensive. any recommendations there too? i want something about 5" diameter. i won't use them often, probably about 3 times a month. thanks for any recommendations! by the way... how do you pronounce PIAA, or do you just say the letters (i'm new to the lighting stuff).

Go to www.autosupermart.com and click lighting then PIAA and then click 959 projector lgt.
They have a simulation of the beam pattern.

You must focus, grasshopper...

The projector lights use a lens to focus the light in a specific pattern. Other lights usually use the reflector surface behind the bulb to foucus the light. Hope that helps.
