PTU drain

Good day - not very good at searching here - but getting things ready for PTU fluid change on 2015 Explorer Sport and need correct (spare) drain plug. Ford guy put me on 1/2 NPT (14 TPI) but once underneath it looks smaller and has hex drive - not square drive like the bigger plug.
What could the smaller plug be?

Have you checked out the following thread on PTU oil change. It mentions the size in the first post but at the end of the thread it mentioned that the PTU was redesigned for 2016/17 so I don't know if the drain plug info still applies to pre 2016 models. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums...ange-tons-of-pics-2016-explorer-sport.462691/
