I have a 2002 Explorer XLT with 4 wheel drive. For 2 weeks I have had a strong gas odor from under the hood. Yesterday I noticed raw gas leaking out the evap canister purge valve.
I changed it, but I had gas leaking there today.
I never overfill the tank, so I don't think that is the problem. I figure the canister must have liquid gas in it.
Does anyone have an idea on how gas could get in there?
