Q about rims sizes

Greetings from sunny Seattle! I'm new to the Explorer family and happy to be part of it.

My question is, I have the stock 16 inch rims on my 2002 Explorer XLS, its 2 wheel drive, and I have the opportunity to buy some 2006-2009 Explorer Eddie Bauer rims that are 18 inches. I called my local Ford dealership and he said I'd have to put them on to see. Does anyone know or have any knowledge when it comes to this? I'm not super mechanically savvy, I appreciate those who know more then me and can help. Thanks in advanced.

G'day, you should be right with 4th gen rims on a 3rd gen

i second lynchy ... the 3rd gen wheels are 5 x 4.5 (lug size) double check if the 4th gens are and thats it buddy and welcome to EF

It works, my 2007 EB 18" rims are now on a family members 2004 EB, no problems.
