Qualities of a good camshaft?

I would like to know what qualities a camshaft must have to boost low end torque. I would like to increase the explorers acceleration under load, from a tailer or when it is full of people or when climbing a steap hill or just when i want to rip away from a stop light. It needs to be driveable daily but i would like it lope a littel. Also needs to save gas. Is this combination possible? engine is a 5.0

rpm range: (1000/1500)rpm - (4000/4500)rpm

valve lift: .5+

duration: ?

duration @ .05 lift: ?


Does anyone know the specs. on the stock 5.0 camshaft?

Multiply by 1.6 for valve lift

What is the max lift if i have gt40p heads?
Is the piston going run into the vavle?
