Question about a 1998 Explorer XLT bumper.

Hi everyone,

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT V8 and someone recently hit the front bumper in a parking lot and bent it all out of shape. Does the front bumper from a 1999 Explorer fit (Has the round fog lights)? A friend has one from his wrecked 2000.

I love my XLT - Only got 90,000 miles on it and the V8 is great. I have even helped others out with when there tiny little 4x4's got stuck.

Is there anything that I need to do or change since it is close to 100,000 miles.

Your 98 has the steel bumper. The 99-01 has the plastic bumper. The fog light brackets will be different between your '98 and his '00.
