Question about changing oil.

Are the threads on the oil filter reverse or standard on the 1994 Explorer? Currently mine's sitting on blocks waiting for this answer lol.

Standard. I'm guessing yours doesn't want to budge, and now has you worried...

A bit, I broke a cheap oil filter and the new one acts like it's gonna crack as well.

What do you mean you broke it? How?

I think he might mean oil filter wrench? I use one of the clenching ones from sears, (it has two arms that pull together when you turn it with a 3/8 ratchet) seems to work the best on this application. They really couldn't have made the filter much easier to change.

Yeah I broke the wrench is what I meant, no worries though changed it out and changed out the filter, was just really tight and I don't remember tightening it that much last time.
