Hi everyone,

First let me say thanks for the help with my previous post for help with the exhaust system.

I have a question about the leafs on my 1998 XLT 4 door. I brought her in for new tires and the guy put it up on the lift and told me that I needed new springs since a small clamp on the rear of the springs was rust off. I am not sure what this part is called. The leafs looked fine to me so I only got the tires.

Is this clamp needed and can I replace it myself?

I upload a photo - someone else's photo from this site and I circled the clamp in red.

Also - sorry another question - Is it easy to remove the grill on the truck? Someone backed into me and cracked the grill.

Thanks,
Mario

Where did you find the new springs?

go to www.generalspringkc.com

the clamp is called a "speed clip"
It is not listed in there products so use the toll free number, ask for Joe.

you will also want new delrin pads, and a new center bolt. ours are 7/16" diameter and you order then to length. cut off any excess.

You "should" also get new u bolts. from what I read they should not be used
