I am installing my reverse indiglo gauges as we speak, but I have one question. I took the headlight switch out so I could connect the power wire from the gauges to the power wire for the switch so the gauges turn on with the headlights. I was just wondering which wire controls the power for the headlights. I am pretty sure it's the brown, but I wanna be sure before I do anything. My explorer is a 92 in case that helps.

Best Way to find out is to use a test light and keep turning the switch on and off til you find one that works when you turn the parking lamps on.

Thats what i had to do to find one that would power up with my auto lamps to kick the reverse gauges on.

I used the power to the little dimmer that dims the dash lights up and down, that way the guages lit up when the dash lit up. Use a multimeter to find a +12v that comes on with your dash lights... it should be one of three wires running to the dimmer.

Im getting ready to install indiglo guages... I can take pics and post them later.

from what I remember from doing mine the brown wire sounds right.
but invest in a test light to make sure !!
