question about the licence plate

like how come on some of the 95 or higher explorers the licence plate in the back is some times on the bumber, and sometimes in the middle of the back door?, i want an x with the licence plate on the bumber but i dunno if i sould look for a certin type of model?? please help! thanks

yeah, the 95-97 the plate is in the bumper. the 98 and newer its in the hatch.

after 97 they did a redesign of the rear lights and the 3rd brake light, added the license plate into the door, and also removed the large thandle and made a button type with a keyhole in it........
