What size tires are you using with your 17" rims? I just ordered a set of 17" Centerline rims and just want an idea of what size to look at and what sizes fit. My 86 has a stock suspension.

I was going to go with a 245/65 but there are only a couple maunfacturers making this size. Very limited selection.

I used 275/55 17 on my 1999 Sport. The stock tires were 235/75 15's. The two diameters were pretty much identical.

im running 285 60 r17's, but you need to know what the offset is on the rims you bought before you know how big of a tire you can run. budget is also gonna limit where you go in terms of tires.

Are you wanting a street look, or AT look? For a street look, I'd go with 255/60 or 275/55. For an AT or all-weather look, I'd go with the 245/65 (higher that stock 235/75), or 235/65 (same height as stock 235/75).

Was gonna go with the 245/65 but don't like the tire choices except for the Michelin Cross Terain SUV. The 245/65 will be .9" taller than the stock 235/75/15.

Originally wanted a wider and lower tire like a 255/60 or 65 or 265/60 or 65 series and may go that way. I am looking for a street ride look but want a solid all-season tire. Trying to avoid any calibration problems. Don't go off-road with this baby. I've got a 92 F-150 Flare-Side 4x4 for that.

Wheels will be in this week (Centerline Galaxy). A friend of mine is a tire dealer and he has offered to try a number of different sizes until we find what I like and what fits. Big problem though, Tire Rack is offering 2 of the tires I like at substantial discounts. I may have to talk him into ordering them thru Tire Rack and giving him some extra cash for his trouble.

FYI- a 275/50/17 is the exact same height as the 235/75/15 stockers. a 275/55/17 is only about .5" taller. if you're not gonna lower it, i would go with either a 275/55 or a 255/60.

a 255/60/17 is the same height as a 275/55.

you can go about 1" tire height difference from stock without it throwing off the speedo enough to notice.
