Sure as hell, I buy my used 04 Ex and they roll out the Ford Employee Price. Soooo, how much for a new one? Figure the 6 Cyl, 4wd, XLT. No 3rd seat. I'd like a CD Player, Keypad, electric seats....

IMO if you get a fully loaded new Explorer you might as well be looking at the Expedition as well.. (prices are too close not too)

Just to give an you an idea, for my '03 Mounty the A-plan price was $33k, vs a sticker of $40k--comparable to the EB or Limited (which have the same price). V8, AWD, Premier, 3rd row (std), DVD, rear air, tow pkg--basically, all of the options available at the time (2nd row buckets weren't available when this one was built).

Looking at the Ford website, the price for an XLT is about $23k (there is $4k cashback right now). Keep in mind that when you try to sell your '04, kbb is going to be far off the market price because of the incentives ($10k off the new Ex will translate to about $7k less for yours).

Just paid $24000 for my '05 Explorer, XLT 4x4. It was almost $9000 off msrp.

25% - 30% off of MSRP ....

is market pricing for Ford Trucks in Houston. And most any dealer will be happy to fax pricing to you if you know the exact package you want. You will save yourself a lot of headache, hassle and time by shopping via phone and only dealing with the Fleet manager and finance guy.

Don't even go to a dealer until you have negotiated the price, received the fax with a copy of the invoice for the truck they are quoting on, and your Ford financing is approved!

If anything is different when you arrive, you can always just walk!

Just paid $22,999 for an 05 Eddie Bauer 4x2 v8 loaded with 8 miles on it, so I might skew your curve. Sticker was $35,x... You know Ford is making boatloads if they can sell them for that.

Wow

Now that looks like one heck of a deal!!

If I get bored this weekend I might go price a new one, just because I'm curious.

This past May I purchased an Eddie Bauer Explorer with the following optional features: audiophile 6cd in dash, 3.73 rear, canopy airbags, moonroof, 3rd row seat, dvd system, adj. power pedals with memory, heated seats, class III/IV tow package, reverse sensing system, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic a/c, plus all the standard equip.

This is a V6, 4x4 model with an MSRP of $39,080.00. With my trade-in (a fully loaded '02 Escape with 58k miles) and a few thousand off sticker from the dealer, I paid $19,4000.00 and I think I did well.

As far as looking at the Expeditions if you're going to spend $39,000....I did that, and a similar Expedition was $47,000. No thanks.
