what size rim? 7-8-10??????

I myself was wondering the same thing. I don't know what has the most back spacing for 15X8's. Mickey Thompson Classic II's, AR Baja's, or Centerline Hellcats. I am about to buy a set of those three in a few.

I was running 15x8 with 3.75" backspacing (33x12.50 BFG AT/ko's), and I'd get rubbing at times.

I changed to 15x8 with 3" backspacing (and 35" MTR's), and that reduced the amount of rub to almost nothing. (it still just touches the front shock of the dual shock setup)).

So, 3.25" to 3.5" on a 15x8 rim should be good.

sorry

I am going to get 15x10

HUH?

How in the world did you go from a 33" tire with rubbing to a 35" tire without rubbing? Were there any other mods or just rim and tire swap.
I am in the same dilema with my explorer. I am ordering rims and tires and can't figure out how much backspacing to get.
I have a six inch lift and want to run 33x12.50x15x8 with 3.25 backspacing. That is on black ar767 rims. The eaton steel rockcrawlers have 4" of backspacing but then I'm afraid I will rub the radius arms when I turn.
I need to order these pretty quick so if anyone and I mean ANYONE can help me out please feel free. I might even fee inclined to buy you a frosty adult beverage next time we meet!

Decrease the backspacing. I had 3.75" backspacing, and it rubbed on the radius arms and swaybar. Changing to a 3" backspacing pushed the tires out, and elimnated the rubbing. Of course, it also means I'll be changing my wheel bearings more often now..

4" backspacing on 15x8 rim with 33x12.50" wide tires will rub on the radius arms and the sway bar at full lock.

I'm might be crazy, but i think 3.25 backspacing worked best a explorer..

backspace

I have 33x12.50 on AR 589 with 3.5 inch back space. I have no rubbing at all but I also have 9 inches of lift and no sway bars.

I just ordered 33x12.50 mud terrains on 15x8 ar767 rockcrawlers with 3.75" of backspacing. I only have a 6" lift (or will have once the body lift is off) and I was told by the guy at national tire and wheel that setup would be good for what I have. Wether he is right or not, I guess we will see. That's why I only spent 34 bucks a rim instead of 110 for 589's. If they don't work, At least I'm only out 140 instead of 440. Somewhat smart I suppose?!
