Back when I learned about lead-acid batteries, talk was about a "sulphated" battery, highly discharged, and how to go about bringing it back. My old F-700, sitting for 4 years, last started up about a year ago, 1998 model, EFI, PCM drained battery to dead.
Yanked it out today, wanna sell the truck, finally, put it on slow charge first, after many hours battery voltage came up to a bit over 11V. Charging voltage is 15, so 4 volts over batt. voltage is pushing only 3amps. through the battery. 4V over nominal on a good battery should cause big current flow, maybe 20, 30, or more, not 3A. Should I up the current setting? Give up on it?
Anybody know batteries real well, can give me advice? Appreciate it! imp
