Hi: I have ordered a limited with option package 301A, and my main concern was to get the Voice Activated Navigation...

As this would be new to me, past navigation factory installed were not voice activated...

Question 1: does the new explorer offer two navi units, one voice activated and one not, i.e. is there any chance mine wont be voice activated?

Question 2: is anyone here well versed enough yet in it to help me when I have questions (i will look around, assume so)

Question 3: i have to relearn garage door opener, that is probably more of an issue of the opener and how it works I suppose, so not sure yet if I will have questions

Question 4: what do you all think of your new Explorers?? ;)

To question 1: There is only one navi unit, and it is integrated with the sync voice activation.

Question 2: Just ask questions, and anyone who can answer should. The device itself is pretty straight forward, and the nice lady when you press the button will give you suggested prompts and things to say.

Question 3: I don't have the garage door openers in mine, but the setup should be fairly simple and included in the getting started book they give you with the car.

Question 4: This is the important one.. It's fantastic! Smoothest riding vehicle we have purchased to date, mine's only a week old but we have over 1800 VERY COMFORTABLE miles on it already.

I would imagine the navigation can also be controlled by the touch-screen in some capacity. Don't fear the voice activated part, it's pretty good. In 2 weeks of using it I've only had to repeat myself 2 times. Once you input your destination, how much input do you really need to give the navigation system? I've never had a need for one so my experience with them is limited.

Nav can be fully controlled by the touch screen or by voice. Either method works pretty well.

Do I like my Explorer..YES!! It's got a couple of quirks with the MFT that need to be worked out, but other than that it's been great. Very comfortable to drive and very sure footed.

MFT ? what is that acronym?

Whoa! 1800 miles in a week!? Are you kidding? How could you use such a beautiful vehicle for a taxi!?!? :D

lol, well about 1400 of it was in 2 days. We drove from LA to Northern California, then from there to the coast, then back to NorCal, and back to LA. It was a long trip, we usually dread the driving, but this time it was fun, and we looked forward to it. Thank you XLT :)

1,000 miles on my new Limited, since Wednesday night. This is my forth Explorer (2003 [70,000 miles], 2005 [+70,000 miles], 2007 [+120,000 miles]) in 8 years. Ford hit a home run with this thing! Awesome!!
