I think I have pinpoint the all-the-time rattling sound. It sounds like it is coming from the front timing chain and I think I will be replacing the tensioner only for now to see if that will fix the sound or at least lessen it.
Anyways from reading on the forum, I see that the 00M12 kit comes with lower intake gaskets (I don't need them), the front tensioner, and an oil restrictor or something along the lines of that, right? Do I need the oil restrictor? If so, can I order that separately and get the part number for it? Basically I want to get the kit without the gaskets. Also as a precaution, I am going to replace the rear timing chain tensioner.
Is TascaParts.com the best place to order parts from? I see a lot of different parts store listed in this forum that is why I am asking. And can someone double check the two tensioner part numbers. Am I missing anything?
Right timing chain tensioner 7U3Z6K254A
Left timing chain tensioner 7U3Z6K254B
Oil Restrictor ???
BTW, sorry for posting a lot of question in one thread. I want to avoid paying the $400 dollars that the ford dealership wants to replace the tensioners. Especially if the parts cost less than $100 and I can do it myself in a few hours. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I notice that 2000StreetRod has some part numbers. But is missing the oil restrictor p/n.
