quick easy question about ohms

if i have 2 subs running at 2 ohms each in parallel will that give me a 1 ohm load on the amp?

Yes.

Resistance in parallel is
1/R total= 1/r1+1/r2

so yes 1/R t= 1/2+1/2=1

my buddy is going to run 2 new audiobahn flame Q 15's
with a audiobahn highcurrent amp and i needed to knw the subs will put a 1 ohm load on the amp

whats interesting about those subs is that the impedance is actually closer to dual 3 ohms!!!
I think crutchfield actually touts them as dual 3's.
A good audiobahn amp will be able to handle those subs though.

The Flame Q (06)- Dual 4ohms
The Flame Compression (08)- Dual 2ohms

1. Read the new crutchfield (dont usually believe them)
2. Check the Thiele/small parameters of the sub
3. Check autosound magazines test on the 06 sub
(lower impedence)

you will see that the v.c. are actually, 3. something ohms, not exactly 4, but then again rarely is any sub exactly at a certain impedance, it fluctuates when playin music.

Yea I saw the Crutchfield it does say Dual 3 ohms, but Audiobahn says Dual 2 and Dual 4
