EDIT: not getting fire to plugs, way to test ecu??
editing the post so I dont flood the forum with threads
truck ran when I parked it to pull it down to replace the driver side head since it was cracked. I got the truck back together tonight and hooked up the plugs according to the help I got below but I'm not getting fire to them.
I did have a friend crank the engine over when torn down with the fuel pump fuse pulled so I could see if the rod was bent from all the water that was in the combustion chamber. I dont think that could have done it.
also, I was unhooking the battery a lot during the rebuild process, sometimes just unhooking the positive side while leaving the negative side hooked up. I dont think this could have fried the ecu but it brought it to my attention so I'm asking.
Is there a way to test the ecu in-car? I've got a code reader if that will help but I dont have my manual for it on hand so I dont know if it CAN do that.
I've checked all the wiring to make sure everything is hooked up and everything looks good.
I dont know what the hell is going on here. sigh.
