Before I order, on the site they list:

Explorer/Mountaineer 4.0L 95-97 TR-054097 92.95

This will fit the SOHC? It doesn't specify OHV or SOHC. I ran a search and couldn't find the answer.

Thanks in advance...

There was no SOHC in '95, so most likely it's for OHV.

Hmm...I have the SOHC. What am I supposed to order then?

I'm sure they used the same MAF housing in OHV and SOHC so it should be fine. All this is is an adaptor and filter.

Thank you, my good man.

looks like you went with the KKM after all eh

Yea, took me forever to decide. I was set on a MAC, then it was a toss up between K&N and KKM, and $$ concerns won me over. I don't have that extra $100 to spend.

from what I read there really is no need to get a MAC intake because all it has more is replaces the stock intake tube which already outflows the throttle body by three times anyways

Yea, I liked the bling factor, but I also read about some installation issues, etc. So I figured that wasn't the way to go.

my thinking was "Why pay 100$ for piping no one is ever going to see" And then I went even more cheap and got a ebay adapter. LoL it all works

Truly CUSTOM intake

If you really want an intake tube, check this out - ipozestu spent under $40 (?) and made an excellent PVC intake tube on his OHV - looks REAL nice

Write up for it here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81609&highlight=custom+intake+write

I'm sure it could be done on a SOHC by anyone with a little brain power :D

damn that looks really good.

That looks amazing. Thanks Buffalo.

I know the KKM comes with the adapter and filter, but, is there some sort of brace that it comes with to keep it from jumping and moving around while driving? If not what can be done?

The brace bolts onto the MAF/adapter plate with one of the supplied bolts - HOWEVER - as i found out, the supplied bolts don't seem to be long enough to add the thickness of the brace and i stripped the threads on the intake adapter. Be careful of this. Mine is now attached to the bracked with a zip-tie.

The brace itself bolts into an existing hole if the front of the engine bay.
