I have a 01 sport and of course its sagging a lil in the back. Dont wanna dump any money into it so i bought a cheap pair of shackle lift kits. My question is should i just use these to replace the shackles all together or should i leave the old shackle there and just run the top bolt through the new bars and the old one, then just put the leaf spring into the new bars. I thought maybe the old one would help keep the lift kits more sturdy. Any thoughts??

I'm having a difficult time picturing what you described. But from what I understand, the new shackles are a straight replacement. You get rid of your old ones.

Exactly. You unbolt your stock shackle from the leaf pack and the frame and install the new shackles in replacement of the old ones.

If you're considering stacking the shackles to lift higher, certainly don't do that...

Noo i was gonna leave the stock ones on bolted to the top. Then put the new ones on the sides of the old ones so in reality they will be connected by the top bolt but the new shackles since they are longer will be bolted to the leaf springs, i thought maybe the old ones would just help keep the new bars from flexing as much. Cause the new shackle kit is just to rectangular bars.

If you bought the ones from Autozone, you can stick another bolt through the highest set of holes on the bottom half of the shackles. I may be wrong but I think that will add at least a little bit of stability.

Instead of leaving the old shackle there as stability i took them completely off cause they were rusted scrap. I got once from Advance Auto, basically just straight peices of steal quarter inch thick, about 3 inches longer then stock shackles, def lifted the rear up about 1-1/2 inches, can see the leaf springs sticking down past the rear bumper now haha

They LOOK like they would twist like a pretzel, but there isn't THAT type of load put on the rear shackle....

Install them. You'll be fine.
