I love Motorcraft you cannot go wrong with them I use them in my ex and my stang:D

yup, Motorcraft parts are good; and you know they'll work.

Basically stay away from cheep no name wires (like AutoZone specials) and you will be fine. I have used wires (on various vehicles) from MSD, Accell, Mallory, Taylor, GM, MOPAR and Motorcraft and had good results with all

ok thanks..
i see a lot of people using jacobs wires but i couldn't find them anywhere so that doesn't matter. motorcraft it is!

great idea gimp.. thanks!

holy cow ford wants a lot for these things...
the guy at the parts dept quoted me 10.99 per plug and 88.95 for the wires!
torrie at fpn gave me much better prices, but nowhere near what gimp paid.

do the ohv and sohc use the same parts? i think the plugs are the same part number. but the wires? anyone know. thanks again!

I just bought a set of Motorcraft plugs for my Wife's Sable from Autozone after being told by Checker's that no one but Ford can sell Motorcraft plugs since they are a dealer only item (yeah, right!). I paid $3.99 each for the 6. Go to their web-site if you don't have one locally, they ship also. I don't think they carry the Motorcraft wires though. They had three different brands at the store. Some cheap 2 year warranty wire set ($19.99), a premium double-synthetic lifetime warranty set ($27.99) and Bosch lifetime warranty set ($37.99).

heh... i thought only ford sold the motorcraft stuff too.. dang.
i'll check autozone on the way home. thanks

You can get Motorcraft products at Walmart here in MD

farm and fleet carries them too so does o'reilleys auto parts

Regarding Walmart, I get my Motrcraft oil filters at our local on. I also used to get their 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 until they stopped carrying it :( They didn't have the plugs so I went down the road to Checker's first where they tried to sell me Autolite. Went down the road a little further and got genuine Motorcraft plugs from Autozone.

I guess the next time I need plugs and wires I'll get them from Torrie. Due to my s/c; I need to buy one Explorer set and one Tbird SuperCoupe set. Those are the ones that fit the best :( Oh well, once every 60k.

I think that the autolite single plat's and autolite wires are the best for Fords. I always use autolite in everything. The only time I didnt was when I had my racecar (NGK plat, and Bor Warner Nascar Select Wires) but before I put those in I had the autolite sets. You just cant beat lifetime warranty on wires with increased performance.

yeah a mechanic buddy i have told me to get autolite wires and plugs. i was just looking at the time involved to change all this. doesn't look i'm gonna be doing a lot on that weekend other than the plugs.. jeez they are located in bad spots.
