First thing to do is pour some Stop-Leak in there. If that doesn't fix it then you gotta start replacing parts. Later.

Time for a new radiator. Once they start that, they aren't fixable.....

thats what i thought....i can get a 3core in there right....i wont use that stop leak crap....oh well ill se what i can get....thx

don't use stop leak that can only make your probs worse!!

Hey, stop leak worked fine for me. Had a leak in the heater core, put some stop leak in and it fixed it right up. Haven't had a problem with it since. Don't see why you people are so strongly against it. I've never had any bad experiences with it.

the problems don't occur right away, it may fix the problem now but you'll most likely run into more later.

Like what?

The heater core is a soldered brass unit. The FORD radiator hs a plastic shell crimped against a rubber gasket onto the brass core. When those start to fail, stop leak isn't capable of fixing leaks THAT big. It's a crappy design. When you replace it, get retrofit that isn't plastic. Pay the difference.

think about it - if this leak stop is expected to stop fluid where its not supposed to be, how is it going to affect fluid flowing where its supposed to? (such as through the small passages in the engine block, or through the tstat) stay away from that stop leak stuff - it will cause nothing but trouble.
my advice would be to replace the radiator.
goto radiator.com mine was $150 w/ shipping, and i got it in 2 days. theyre great folks to work with. its really simple to change it out, and the part itself is cheap enough. i would also change your hoses and tstat while youre at it and pressure test the system when youre done.

Yeah I know that but I figure I'd rather spend 3 bucks and take the risk than spend 150 bucks which I don't even have. I am BROKE. Well, I'm out like a fat playin dodgeball.
