The tools should slid in easily until you hear somewhat of a click, you will be able to feel when they are in the right spot. If you let go of the 2 tools they should point inwards, that lets you know their in the right spot. Pull them outwards (towards the doors) and wiggle jiggle the radio out. It will come out fairly easy, and pulling harder on it doesn't get you anywhere. I found that putting you fingers inside the tape deck gives you a good pull point.

I took out the 2 screws on the trim piece and pulled the trim off with the radio still in and then used a screwdriver on the sides of the radio.

I just use four small screwdrivers. just slide them into the holes and give alil pushing to the sides and pull. it comes out relitivly easy.

Somebody may have used a tool that messed up the clips. If you can't feel the "snap" when pushing the tool in it may be too late. You may have to go the route of removing the 2 small screws to get the faceplate off to gain more access to the clips.
