'91 4dr 4x4 XLT
The bushings for the frame end of the radius arms are considerably worn and need replacement. Most of the places I've contacted for estimates have quoted $300+. A friend who owns a '92 XLT 4x4 suggests we try it ourselves.
My only concerns lies with the amount of work involved. The local Ford dealer and two other shops have mentioned that the entire front end, including axel and differential, have to be dropped out before the radius arms can be removed. On top of that, both shops couldn't guarantee the arms and brackets would not need replacement.
If anyone out there has suggestions, let me know. I'm not too worried about the cost, but my baby is close to 10 years old and it seems this problem is normal wear 'n tear on a 4x4.
Thanx,
