how hard is it to change out the radius arm bushings? How much do they usally run? What kind are the best plastic ,rubber etc.thanks for all your help Brad in Iowa

Those are some loaded questions!

First, what type of tools do you have? You'll need at the least, flat concrete surface, two jackstands, good floor jack, metric socket and wrench set, wrench and socket to fit the nut on the ra bracket (1 1/16 I think) a deep socket the same size as the whench, 6" -1/2" drive extension and ratchet as well as a pry bar, penetrating oil and a helper.
Do you have the knoledge/ experience/ willingness to tackel the job?
Are you asking the price of the part (aprox.$20 per side), or the job ($40+ parts, aprox.$100 labor + alingment $50)
Which is best, is subject to opinion. Rubber are quieter and softer (better flex) but tend to fail esaily. Urathane lasts longer but is prone to squeeking as well as causing a stiffer ride.

i have all the tools to do the job, what wuold you go with rubber or poly?I am very mechanically inclined on Fords, but i have never got into suspension items before,How long do you think the job should take? The bushing on the side next to the cat is nearly gone, and the other side is not much better, eventally i want to do all body bushings but i thought this would be a good place to start. Thanks for your reply Brad in Iowa

I have the polly bushings on my X and that is what I recomend using to all the customers who I deal with. The job should take you most of an afternoon (being as it will be the first time for you to tackle the job). One thing, make sure you reinstall the funky heat shield on the right side. It is there for a reason and without it the bushing life will be dramatically affected.
