Hi Explorer's Enthusiasts, I was looking on Rancho website for the Rancho 9000 shocks and the MyRide module.

At this moment because my Explorer is stock i can use them with "No problemo :D" but in future i want to lift a few inches on front and rear, so i can't use the 9000 if I lift my explorer?

Thanks a lot

How high do you want to lift? Stock length shocks are good for a couple inches of lift.

They'll max out at about 2" of lift. It's a 10" travel shock. If you really wanted to bump it up get a 12" stroke shock with matching collapsed lengths but a taller extended length.... I might have made you confused but really shocks shouldn't be rated for "lift" because that shock can go on many different applications. That's why I always look at length of travel.

Thanks for your answers, I would like 2-3in on the front and just 1in rear.

The reason because i'm interest on this shocks is because i drive in the four conditions that they say, off road, sport, tow and highway

well unless you were planning on doing the 4" superlift then you don't really need a taller shock. the standard rs9000's will work as well as the vast array of shocks that are available for the trucks. the 9000's will be worth the money for sure.

The way to find what shocks you need is to look up the stock shocks. You want the upper and lower mount types along with the extended and compressed lengths.

Now you can look through all the shocks (farther in the catalog) that have the correct mount types and find the set that has new compressed and extended lengths.

That's how I had to find mine as they didn't specifically list my lift combo in their catalog.

And why the 9000 have a compresor (with MyRide) if they are already Nitrogen gas charged??
