It's going to be direct wire/wire harness. It won't be anything like an aftermarket system that you can unplug and upgrade without harnesses, etc.

well im trying to find if it is at RCA levels, could i splice it to be a signal wire at the amp or would i need to get a converter to break down the signal so it wont be so strong... basically is it speaker level sound or rca level.. if that makes sence

are you changing your head unit or just trying to add an aftermarket amplifier?

If changing the head unit just run RCA's for your aftermarket amplifier...

If keeping the factory head unit you will need line level converters or something like a JL Audio Clean Sweep, or Memphis 6ix Converter to get proper signals...

There is a way to find the speaker in puts and outputs to bypass the factory amplifier, but unless you have some experience doing this I would suggest doing it, because it could blow your speakers or burn up the amplifier if the wrong wires get cut and used...

yeah im trying to add a suplimental amp and subs. So what you're saying is i need to buy a line out converter and convert the speaker signal and use that for rca inputs to the new amp

Don't know if you've purchased your amp yet, but there are amps out there that have high level (speaker) inputs. So a converter wouldn't be needed. Just some extra wires to get the signal to the amp.

Yes either way add a converter or using the high level input on the amp itself, it can be done either way, I would suggest an A/B class amp that would work with your sub or subs ohm load if using the high level inputs so it will produce cleaner music with alot less distortion.

just my 2 cents...

The Line out converter would give you alittle more adjustability...

yes i do have an amp and subs already, my buddy told me the rating and all should be ok but now im confused. You guys just helped with the idea that i need to buy a line converter, but i went to crutchfield and they showed me needing an amp kit with 8awg wires but when i went to best buy and walmart they show different ratings vs size of wire. so now i need help with that too i have a bazooka700 max power ela500.1 powering two polk GNX124 12inch 4 ohm woofers

My question in case you got lost cuz i do easily is which amp installation kit size would i need?

6ga with a 60 amp inline fuse should do you just fine.

alrighty thank you

i cant find one in 6 so its alright to upgrade to 4gauge right as long as i stick to the 60 amp?

for That amp go with the 4ga kit.

I have about 1600-1700 watts RMS in the mustang for all speakers and ran 0/1ga wire and an extra battery.

Ok but the sixty amp fuse isnt common in the four gauge wire what size fuse do you recommend

Run the fuse that came with it should be an 80-100 amp fuse.

If there are 4 15 amp fuses on the amplifier you want a slightly larger one on your power wire and it needs to be no more than 12-18 inches from your battery the fuse that is...
