I was thinking of buying a skyjacker lift kit for my 1992 ranger because i have heard such great things about them. Well right now I am not a fan of skyjacker. I just started to install my skyjacker dual front shock setup on my ranger. What a POS! There was absolutely no engineering or testing what so ever that went into this kit. I guess its true... you get what you pay for and at $45 it is garbage. I just got so fed up I put everything back in the box and its being shipped back tomorrow. I looked at modding the mounts but why bother. Ill just start from scratch and build my own like I should have in the first place. They have you use a single bolt thats about 7" long for the lower shock mount. There is absolutely no support what so ever. Also the kit places the shock way to far out and it would just be crushed my the tires. The directions say that you "may" have to adjust the steering stops. Well if I had to adjust them so the tire would not hit the shock my truck would only be going straight from now on!
Since I have been looking at buying a superduty I have also been researching lift kits and the superduty guys say the skyjacker lifts ride like a$$.
Dont mean to bad mouth anyone that has a skyjacker lift and likes it.... like I said I have only heard great things about them...... but their dual front ranger/explorer shock setup is just plan garbage!!!!!

A 1996 Ranger or what?

Skyjacker dual shock setup for the IFS?

no- for my 1992.... dual front for a TTB

Do you have a picture?

The James Duff version requires cutting a corner of the coil bucket off with a grinder.

Autofab makes a hoop and coil bucket for your truck.

I have never seen or heard of a Skyjacker dual shock system for the TTB

The ford dealer sells F-250 shock mounts that will work on your truck with some modification too, and you can set your own height. You have to ct the shock mount part of the bucket retainer to install and its good practice to weld the two pieces together.

Why do you want dual shocks on a ranger?

Check out the new version of James Duff's dual shock and coil bucket setup. They have discontinued the hoop style!!!

I dunno, I just know i liked my lift for my truck, and i certainly beat the piss outta it, and it's like new still..

Rick Wojahn - cool you are just about 10 miles up I-5 from me, maybe sometime in the future we could go 4X i have been keeping a eye out for people in this area.

I have never seen a picture either...... I just figured since it was skyjacker it must be good.

Ill take some pictures of the one I got. I still have the wheel off my truck so Ill hold the bracket up and take some pics.
