I was thinking of buying a skyjacker lift kit for my 1992 ranger because i have heard such great things about them. Well right now I am not a fan of skyjacker. I just started to install my skyjacker dual front shock setup on my ranger. What a POS! There was absolutely no engineering or testing what so ever that went into this kit. I guess its true... you get what you pay for and at $45 it is garbage. I just got so fed up I put everything back in the box and its being shipped back tomorrow. I looked at modding the mounts but why bother. Ill just start from scratch and build my own like I should have in the first place. They have you use a single bolt thats about 7" long for the lower shock mount. There is absolutely no support what so ever. Also the kit places the shock way to far out and it would just be crushed my the tires. The directions say that you "may" have to adjust the steering stops. Well if I had to adjust them so the tire would not hit the shock my truck would only be going straight from now on!
Since I have been looking at buying a superduty I have also been researching lift kits and the superduty guys say the skyjacker lifts ride like a$$.
Dont mean to bad mouth anyone that has a skyjacker lift and likes it.... like I said I have only heard great things about them...... but their dual front ranger/explorer shock setup is just plan garbage!!!!!
