Recently I have had some time to really dig into my tranny.Today I finally got a chance to get the pump off from the bellhousing.Up until this point I have found no visible issues to lead me to a cause of my failure.
What I found was that the leading edge fit on the pump inner gear has been rounded by the TC.The TC could not have been seated into the gear for this to happen. What I also found was that I am supposed to have the TC that came with the tranny replacement. The TC that I have has no sign of any wear that it spun in the pump. This would explain why I had no tranny action at all,but it leaves me with way to many questions that probably won't have answers unless I tear the replacement unit out of my truck.
So much for good honest service!
Aside from that, it looks like I have a very rebuildable unit but I am really at odds as to which way to get er done.I have way more than a rebuild into this thing as it is and I really can't afford to make a mistake on my virgin voyage,I have to make this one count. What do ya think?
