I was wondering, and haven't been able to find out, but on my 96 X, I have a little vent just to the right of the Radio area. Anyone know what this is for? I thought maybe for a internal temp sensor, but I just have a XL, no electronic climate controls. So what's it for?

Thanks

You're right! It's for the temp. sensor used on Eddie Bauer and Limited Models with automatic A/C controls. If you don't have that there is no sensor behind it, but the same vent grille is used rather than covering it with a solid piece. 95-01 Explorers have this vent regardless of trim level, as do newer Rangers and Sport Tracs.

Have a nice night. :D

I figured as much.

Thanks for your quick reply. :)
