Help!
I just installed a new master brake cylinder and vac booster unit, trying to reduce the soft brake pedal feel.

No real results, except now the REAR ANTI-LOCK light is always on in the dash! (HINT! the brakes feel real firm with the engine off, as soon as I start the engine, the pedal bottom seems disappears!

ABS Qs:
1) Is there a reset for this light, or is it diagnosing for a fault at every start?

2) Can I check the codes for the ABS myself, or will I have to make a FORD contribution at the dealer to let them connect to their computers?

3) Do the ABS brake control modules (on the frame) wear out often?

Soft pedal Qs"
1) Can old brake lines actually get soft and swell when under pressure ( thought the "firm when engine off" kind of negates this idea)

2) Is this just another "Explorer thing"?

Note: I recently did all the brakes and cylinders, so most components are in perfect condition.

Note 2: I just did a search for the abs prob, but I would like comments on the soft pedal question, thanks.

Thanks!

Soft pedal usually means air in the system somewhere. As for the brake lines swelling, they could a little, but if it were enough for a soft pedal, the lines would probably burst. Besides, they have a braided lining under the rubber overcoating. I'd try bleeding the system again to see if that helps. If I remember correctly (somebody correct if I'm wrong), you have to bleed the wheels in a specific order to get it right.
