Rear Axle Ratio

How can I determine my rear axle ratio? I would like to know what my towing capacity is (roughly) and I need to know which axle it is to determine this. Thanks

look on door jam at the white sticker. it has an area for the axle code...it's say something like D4 or something like that, then go to your owners manual and it will have a table to decipher the code. or if you feel adventurous climb under the vehicle and there should be a metal tag attached to the rear axle with the code on it.

Do a search for "Axle Code" somewhere on here there is a post that has all that info. To get the info from your truck to match with this list look at the driverside door jamb, there is a sticker will all the info, it should be listed under axle. Good luck.
