how much can the rear bumper withstand before bending or breaking off, i want to remove my hitch system for clearance

Tongue weight and max trailer weight should be printed on the bumper, either on the plastic piece or stamped into the metal.

I believe its 350lbs tongue wt. and 3000lbs trailer wt. for my rear bumper, but you should check on yours. You should also find the ratings in the owners manual.
